ParametersDescription
Shutter SpeedControls the time it takes for light to enter the camera. The faster the shutter speed, the clearer the image. Make this higher for dynamic shots and lower for low-light conditions.
Sensitivity (ISO)Changes how sensitive the sensor is to light. A higher sensitivity means the camera will capture more light and create a brighter image.
Exposure Compensation Value (EV)In Auto Mode, adjust the EV to find the correct exposure level.
White Balance (WB)Removes unrealistic colors and tones so colors are accurately captured in the image. A higher white balance produces warmer tones and lower results in cooler tones.
Jitter Blur ReductionImproves motion blur and stabilization in low-light environments, where the image will be darker and may flicker.
FiltersAdd different color tones and effects.
Metering ModeFace Priority prioritizes the face for brightness. Matrix ensures accurate exposure of the whole image.
SharpnessAdjusts the video screen's clarity and the image edges' sharpness.
Portrait ModeImproves facial brightness and skin texture in portraits, creating bright and white portraits. Avoid using in high-intensity sports scenes.

5.2 Waterproofing

1. The GO Ultra Standalone Camera is waterproof to a depth of 33ft (10m) and can be used for underwater shooting without the Dive Case. 2. Before shooting underwater, please replace the lens guard with the AquaLens to get the best shooting quality. The AquaLens is sold separately and cannot be used with the Dive Case. 3. The GO Ultra Action Pod is IPX4 splashproof, with and without the Standalone Camera installed. Do not use it underwater without the Dive Case. 4. Before use, ensure that the pogo pins on the back of the Standalone Camera and the front of the Action Pod are not stained or oxidized. 5. After using the GO Ultra Standalone Camera in salt water:

  • Gently rinse the surface of the camera with fresh water.
  • Soak in fresh water for 10 minutes.
  • Wipe it dry with a soft cloth and place it in a ventilated place to dry naturally.

Once the surface of the camera is dry, remove the battery and microSD card.

56 / 59
Section 56

Maintaining optimal waterproof performance:

1. Do not use a hair dryer on the microphone and speaker, as this will damage the internal waterproof membrane. 2. Do not operate the camera for a long time { \bf > } 1 hour) outside the recommended temperature range of 4° F to 104°F (-20°C to 4 0 ~ ^ { \circ } ~ C ~ ) or in extremely humid environments, such as saunas or hot springs. 3. Do not operate the camera for a long time ^ { \prime \textgreater 1 } hour) underwater without the Dive Case. 4. Do not store GO Ultra in an environment with high temperatures or humidity, or with perfumes and cosmetics to avoid contact corrosion which will affect the use of the product. 5. Do not allow the camera to enter water at a high speed. Excessive impact against the surface of water may damage the camera's waterproofing capability. 6. Do not drop the camera or subject it to other forms of impact. 7. Do not disassemble the GO Ultra Standalone Camera.

Section 57

5.3 Cleaning

1. If dust, hair, or other foreign objects get into or on the lens guard, clean it with fresh water or use a lens brush, air blower, or microfiber cloth. 2. If the lens contains foreign objects, such as dirt or hair, clean it with a lens pen, air blower, or soft cloth.

58 / 59
Section 58

5.4 After Underwater Use

After using GO Ultra with the AquaLens for underwater shooting, switch back to the standard Lens Guard. Some moisture may remain on the lens when changing guards, which could lead to fogging.

To prevent the lens from fogging, we recommend the following steps:

1. Shake the device 3-5 times to remove as much water as possible from the surface. 2. Remove the AquaLens and wipe the lens barrel thread area with a clean paper towel/cleaning cloth. 3. Shoot for about 5 minutes at 4K/60fps to allow the camera body to warm up slightly and help evaporate any residual moisture, or use a hair dryer on the cool setting and blow air onto the lens area for about 5 minutes. 4. Once you have confirmed that the lens barrel is completely dry, reinstall the standard Lens Guard.

59 / 59
Section 59

Note:

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set up and activate the Insta360 GO Ultra for the first time?
First, power on the Insta360 GO Ultra by aligning the Standalone Camera with the Action Pod and pressing the power button for 2 seconds. Then, download the Insta360 app by scanning the QR code on the touchscreen or accessory box. Turn on your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, open the app, and find the GO Ultra device. Authorize the connection on your phone and confirm activation on the Action Pod. If a firmware update is prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to complete it.
How do I charge the Insta360 GO Ultra?
Place the Standalone Camera in the Action Pod and connect them to a power supply using the official USB-C cable. During charging, the indicator lights on both the camera and pod will be orange, turning green when fully charged. For optimal charging, use a mains power supply with a maximum of 5V 3A. Ensure the Standalone Camera is securely fastened in the Action Pod during the process.
What type of microSD card does the Insta360 GO Ultra use?
The Insta360 GO Ultra stores media on a MicroSD card inserted into the slot on the side of the Standalone Camera. It accepts UHS-I, V30 and above microSD/TF cards with exFAT compatibility. Cards that are too slow may not record properly, and UHS-II, UHS-III, or cards exceeding 1TB may be incompatible.
Is the Insta360 GO Ultra waterproof?
Yes, the Insta360 GO Ultra Standalone Camera is waterproof to a depth of 33ft (10m) and can be used for underwater shooting without a Dive Case. For best quality underwater, replace the standard lens guard with the separately sold AquaLens. The Action Pod is IPX4 splashproof but should not be used underwater without the Dive Case.
How do I connect the Insta360 GO Ultra to the Insta360 app?
Turn on the camera and activate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone. Open the Insta360 app, tap the camera icon on the homepage to search for devices, and select GO Ultra. For first-time connection, tap Confirm on the Action Pod or press the shutter button to authorize. If connection fails, check your phone's Wi-Fi menu for the camera network and enter the serial number.
How do I update the firmware on my Insta360 GO Ultra?
You can update via the Insta360 app or a computer. Via the app, connect the camera; if an update is available, a prompt will appear—follow on-screen instructions. Via computer, connect the camera with the USB-C cable in USB Mode, download the latest firmware from the Insta360 website, and copy the 'Insta360GO3SFW.pkg' file to the camera's root directory. Ensure the camera has at least 20% battery before updating.
How do I transfer files from the Insta360 GO Ultra to my smartphone?
Connect the camera to the Insta360 app. Open the app's album page, tap the check mark icon, and select the files you want. Tap the export icon to save to your phone's album or the download icon to save to the app album. Do not exit the app or lock your phone during the transfer.
Why won't my Insta360 GO Ultra connect to the app?
First, ensure the Insta360 app has permissions for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and local network on your phone. Check that Wi-Fi is enabled on the camera and that it's close to your phone. If issues persist, update the camera and app firmware, restart both devices, or forget the camera's Wi-Fi network in your phone's settings and reconnect.
How do I find the serial number of my Insta360 GO Ultra?
You can find the serial number in four ways: on the back of the product box, in the camera settings under About Camera, in the Insta360 app under Device Information, or in Insta360 Studio by importing original footage and checking file properties. The last 6 digits are shown during activation.
Does the Insta360 GO Ultra support Apple Find My?
Yes, the Insta360 GO Ultra Standalone Camera is compatible with Apple Find My for tracking its location via an Apple device, as long as the camera has battery. Activate it in the camera settings under Apple Find My, then pair via the Find My app. Note: This function does not work with the Action Pod or when the camera is out of power.
How do I clean the Insta360 GO Ultra lens?
If dust or foreign objects get on the lens guard, clean it with fresh water, a lens brush, air blower, or microfiber cloth. For the lens itself, use a lens pen, air blower, or soft cloth. After underwater use with the AquaLens, dry the lens barrel thoroughly before reinstalling the standard lens guard to prevent fogging.
How do I use the Insta360 GO Ultra in Endurance Mode?
Enable Endurance Mode in the Shortcut Menu by swiping down on the touchscreen. This mode extends battery life by up to 20% by limiting some functions, supporting only Video Mode at a maximum of 4K30fps. It's useful for longer recording sessions when you don't need higher frame rates or other shooting modes.
How do I distinguish between landscape and portrait mode on the Insta360 GO Ultra?
Observe the camera position and indicator light direction. For selfies: in landscape, the lens is in the upper right and the light is horizontal; in portrait, the lens is in the upper left and the light is vertical. When attached to the Magnet Pendant: in landscape, the lens is on the left with one light visible; in portrait, the lens is on the right with two lights visible.
