Preparation

You will need:

- A smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth 4.2 or later. - The latest version of our app, downloadable via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. - A SwitchBot account, you can register via our app or sign in to your account directly if you already have one.

Step 1: Powering on

Press and hold the ON button on your device for 3 seconds to power on.

Step 2: Adding your device to our app

Open our app, tap ^{+ + } at the top right-hand corner of the home page, select Add Device, find the relevant device icon and select. Then follow the instructions to add your device.

Step 3: Adding appliance remote controls/Copying Hub settings

Follow the in-app prompts to add an appliance remote control.

If you have a SwitchBot Hub with added remote controls, you can copy them to your Universal Remote.

For first-time users, search for your appliance brand and model to find and download the infrared code.

If your exact model isn't listed, choose the closest match, as many brands reuse codes between models. We also recommend purchasing a SwitchBot Hub so that you can learn particular buttons.

Step 4: Mapping appliance actions via our app and syncing settings to your Universal Remote

Enter the Settings page of your Universal Remote in our app, select the target appliance, and follow the instructions to map actions to your Universal Remote buttons. Then, sync settings to your Universal Remote.

Map actions for each device to your Universal Remote individually, as button actions differ between appliances in our app.

Controlling devices or triggering Scenes

After you have added your remote controls and mapped appliance actions to your Universal Remote, press the red Kata button on your Universal Remote and use the Touch Wheel to select among devices or Scenes.

Customized Shortcuts

If the physical buttons on your Universal Remote are insufficient for your needs, you can utilize the four Customized Shortcuts. These shortcuts can be edited via our app, allowing you to assign up to 20 button functions to each. This feature enables you to easily access buttons of the same category with just one tap.

Raise to Wake

By simply picking up your Universal Remote, the screen will automatically light up for you to use. You can turn this feature on or off via our app.

Auto-Dim

You can adjust the time for your device screen to automatically turn off via our app.

Screen Brightness

Your Universal Remote is equipped with a light sensor and can automatically adjust screen brightness according to ambient light. You can also adjust the brightness to your personal preference via our app.

Data Backup

All configuration data of your Universal Remote is stored under your account by default. Once your Universal Remote is restored to factory settings, damaged, or lost, you can purchase a new Universal Remote, and copy all previous configuration information to it.

Notice

Once configuration is complete, your SwitchBot Universal Remote can control home devices offline. Please refrain from taking it outside to prevent loss or other consequences. Please note that this product is not suitable for children under 5 years old.

Charging

It takes about 5 hours to fully charge your device battery and this can last for up to 6 months after one full charge.

1. A 5V = 1 A adapter is required to charge your device.

2. Your device can last for up to 5 months with one full charge. This result is tested under the following conditions:

Device lights up for 5 minutes and sends an infrared signal 50 times per day in a 25°C (77°F) environment.

Firmware Upgrades

In order to improve user experience, we will regularly release firmware updates to introduce new functions and solve any software defects that may occur during usage. When a new firmware version is available, we will send an upgrade notification to your account via our app. When upgrading, please make sure your product has sufficient battery and make sure your smartphone is within range to prevent interference.
